ENDODONTICS

If you have a severely damaged tooth from cavities or a serious dental infection, we may recommend root canal treatment (Endodontics). Root canal treatment is used to repair and save the tooth instead of extracting it.

A root canal treatment may take 1 or 2 office visits. It is a painless treatment, since local anesthesia will be used so that you do not feel any discomfort during the procedure.

Please note that you will need a follow-up visit after your root canal treatment is completed. At this visit, the temporary filling will be removed and will need to be replaced with a permanent restoration to protect your tooth from further damage.

• Root canal treatments. Treatment that is carried out to remove the affected pulp from the tooth.
• Root canal retreatment. It is a non-surgical procedure where the filling materials are removed from the root canal of the tooth.
• Apicoectomy. It is the partial surgical removal of the root of the tooth and the surrounding tissues that are infected.
